Megan Adams holds a Master of Arts degree in Dance Education from the University of Northern Colorado, where her director was the well-known dance author Sandra Cerney Minton. In addition, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Megan Adams is originally from Mandan, North Dakota. She started her training in jazz and ballet at the age of 4. Megan’s career in dance began at the age of 16, where she taught her first jazz and dance team classes at Northern Plains Ballet in Bismarck, ND. As a member of her high school dance team for four years, she received the Most Valuable Dancer and the All Star award as she also became captain of her dance team for 2 consecutive years. Megan choreographed and lead technique classes for the dance team and in her senior year; she choreographed their novelty dance, which lead them to a state title, as well as their pom routine, which lead them to 4th place. Before moving to Missouri, Megan was the Dance Director at San Luis High School in Arizona for 11 years. She established a dance program from the ground up that started with 60 students and grew into over 230 students. While there, Megan received the Teacher of the Year award for her accomplishments. As she taught dance in Arizona, she simultaneously coached a competitive dance team for 10 years where they traveled around the country for competitions, workshops, and dance conventions. She received the Exceptional Coach award in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, and in 2013. In 2017, Megan had the honor of speaking at the National Dance Education Organization conference about the connection between dance and character. Megan currently lives in Platte City with her encouraging husband and beautiful step-son who have helped inspire the creation of Elements Dance Academy. Dancing competitively used to be a huge part of Megan’s life but her adoration now lies within the ways that dance develops the child as a whole human being. Megan’s expertise lies within uplifting, empowering, and inspiring her students to embrace themselves entirely through the elements of dance. She is originally from Morrison, Illinois where she danced at Jennifer’s Dance Center. Hannah learned ballet, jazz, lyrical, clogging, Irish Step, and contemporary dance styles. Hannah was a member of the Morrison High School Pom Pon Squad, and won multiple state titles in the Class A High Kick division. She was a member of the All-American Dance Team and danced in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the London New Year’s Day Parade. Hannah attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and was captain for the Pioneer Dance Team. She performed for the halftime of the Vikings and Packers game in 2014. During her collegiate career, she taught at Gotta Dance Academy of Performing Arts located in Lancaster, Wisconsin. Hannah occasionally leads master classes for current students. Hannah is the current head coach for the first MSHSSA recognized cheerleading team at Lakeview Middle School, called the Lynx Cheer Squad. The squad performs sideline routines, chants, and halftime routines for various football, volleyball, and basketball games. Currently, she lives in Platte City with her pit bull Griswold and is a deputy with the Platte County Sheriff’s Office. Dance is engraved in who she is as a person and she wants to share this excitement with her students. She has taught dance at a local church for the last 7 years where she combined her passion for dance and her love for children. She feels children possess a joy and freedom that everyone should discover. Angela has lived in the Kansas City area most of her life! She’s a Platte County Alumni…go Pirates! She lives in PC with her husband and 3 children. Angela has many passions and dance has always been on the top of that list! She loves getting into the world of others and seeing their perspective and believes that teaching creative dance is just the avenue for this! She is excited to be a part of the Elements vision and all that they have to offer this small, but growing town. Chloe’s passion for dance started at the age of 3 at Jennifer's Rising Dance Stars. Joining the competition team at Catherine’s Dance Studio at 6, she later returned to Jennifer’s team at the age of 10 until the studio closed during her freshman year. Chloe took tumbling classes at various places and was a member of the Park Hill South dance team during her freshman year, competing for P&D before discovering the need for reconstructive hip surgery. After completing her third hip surgery, Chloe found joy in coaching tumbling classes in downtown Parkville and offering private lessons. Her love for children and the positive impact she makes on their lives drives her to share her passion, bringing excitement when things click for young dancers. Deisha Sutton has been dancing for nearly 3 years — but her love for the art form runs deep. She started with Ballet 1 and quickly fell in love with the discipline, artistry, and self-expression that dance offered. Her first recital at age 15, marked the beginning of a journey that took her from one class a week to as many as her schedule and paycheck would allow. Though she worried that starting later might hold her back, her background in weightlifting and other sports gave her unexpected strength and coordination, helping her excel quickly, particularly in the technical demands of ballet. Deisha is known for her dedication and her drive to challenge herself, always striving to grow as both a dancer and a person. Beyond dance, Deisha is a creative at heart — a musician, artist, and author — but above all, she considers herself a storyteller. Whether through movement, music, or words, she uses the arts to explore the world and express her unique perspective Now, as she transitions from student to teacher at Elements, Deisha is passionate about sharing what she has learned. Tiara’s passion for tumbling and dance began at the age of 3 at Judy’s Studio of Tumbling and Dance in her hometown of Basehor, Kansas. During her years there, she participated in annual recitals and was a proud member of the M.A.T.S. (Mid-America Tumbling Society) tumbling team. Her love for the sport quickly grew into a passion for teaching as well. She began assisting classes at just 11 years old and became an instructor by the age of 15. Tiara also trained at Sarah’s Studio of Dance in Basehor, KS, for two years and spent one year at Dance Strong in Tonganoxie, KS. When Judy’s Studio closed in 2017, her tumbling career came to an unexpected end just before her senior year of high school. After graduating, Tiara attended Kansas City Kansas Community College, where she earned associate degrees in General Science and Liberal Arts. While attending college, she continued sharing her passion for tumbling by teaching at The Extreme Studio in Basehor. There, she introduced the studio to M.A.T.S. competitions and served as the head coach for the tumbling team. During the COVID lockdown, Tiara made the difficult decision to step away from coaching to focus on building her professional career. Tiara then spent four years working at a credit union, where her passion for helping others continued to grow. In 2025, she decided to return to school to pursue her associate degree in Business and reignite her passion for coaching and teaching. She is excited to be back in the environment she has always loved, helping students grow both physically and mentally. Teaches Adult Ballet Hannah was born in Virginia and started dancing at age 4. She performed at the Hampton Coliseum and found a real joy to be on stage, especially in her emerald, green polk-a-dot tutu. She continued to dance throughout high school, whether it was ballets, musicals or dance team competitions, she enjoyed being on stage. In her early college years, while she was studying abroad, she found a way to dance in Greece. After her young years, she took a long break to become a Physician Assistant and to start a family. She currently resides in Platte City with her husband and two children. Raised by a choreographer, her love for dance was instilled early on. Her training includes study in classical ballet, jazz, tap, and contemporary. Liz studied in a Royal Academy of Dance conservatory, working with faculty from around the world including instructors from the Bolshoi Ballet and The Royal Ballet. After high school, Liz went on to study in a conservatory program, focusing in contemporary and jazz dance. Liz has worked with both the Walt Disney Company as an entertainment host and Universal Studios Orlando as a dance/stunt swing. During this time, she received her equity card as a theme park performer. Additional performance credits include credits with the DC Contemporary Company, as well as musical theater groups throughout Washington DC, Florida, and Kansas. She has recently branched into musical theater choreography, working with local community and non-equity professional theaters. Liz now lives in Leavenworth, KS and is so excited to be part of Elements! Carla is thrilled to join the Elements team! Carla took tap and ballet classes from the age of three all the way through high school. Now she loves to watch her daughter learn and develop her own love of dance right here at Elements. Originally from the east coast, Carla is a proud “Jersey Girl”! She spent twenty years working for a water distribution company in the engineering field. Five years ago she and her family made the decision to move to the Kansas City area and she transitioned to becoming a full time stay at home mom. Carla has become very active in volunteering, most notably she has been the head of the Platte City Community Garden for the past three years. Carla is very passionate about the work being done at Elements, not only in developing dance techniques but developing the whole person at his or her own pace. She looks forward to being Megan’s “right hand person”, assisting other teachers with any tasks and helping the studio run more smoothly behind the scenes. In her personal life Carla loves spending time with her husband and daughter, enjoying the outdoors, gardening, reading, and crocheting. Mel is thrilled to join the Elements team and bring her enthusiasm, warmth, and dedication to the front desk. Her connection to the dance world comes through her daughter, Zoey, who began color guard last year. Watching Zoey’s team perform has deepened Mel’s appreciation for the performing arts and the community it creates. Mel brings several years of experience in training, leadership, and employee development. She is passionate about helping others grow and finds purpose in supporting people as they become the best versions of themselves. Her professional background spans medical office operations, customer service, and even landscaping, showcasing her adaptability and strong work ethic. She recently completed the Emerging Leaders program through her full-time employer and also holds a certification from the New York Institute of Photography. Photography is one of Mel’s greatest passions, and she cherishes the ability to capture meaningful moments. A proud Missouri native, Mel currently resides in Platte City. She is a devoted mom to her daughter, Zoey, a junior at Platte County, and to her four beloved dogs—Chopper, Atlas, Axl, and Ivy. In her free time, Mel enjoys plants, music, crafting, and spending quality time with family and friends. And of course, she is almost never without a camera in hand.
